PERE LACHAISE CEMETARY

A cherub rests
A tired head
Upon  knees
Of tarnished bronze.

An angel places
Laurel leaves
Upon weathered stone
Of forgotten dreams.

The white lines lay
Upon a grassy bed
To slumber deep
In thought.

Its tree lined path
Bears upright marble
Marked in names
Of those departed.

A crow it rests
In silent stare
Upon a cross
Draped in crimson foliage.

A plaque it bears
\" ETERNIA\"
For the struggles of art
Are so.
