Shadows and Solace

In the shadows, I quietly reside, A conflicted heart, seeking a place to hide. For I long to retreat from the world\'s embrace, Yet fear the toll it takes on those who chase.

Within my soul, a tempest brews, Yearning for solitude, a moment to choose, To shield the ones I hold so dear, From the burden of my presence, crystal clear.

But guilt consumes, as tendrils entwine, A delicate balance, hard to define. For I crave solace, a breath of release, Yet dread the ache in their hearts, the tears that increase.

In this paradox, I find no solace nor rest, Wrestling with desires, my heart feels oppressed. For I yearn to spare them pain and sorrow, To protect their tomorrows, a better tomorrow.

Yet love\'s journey, a bittersweet art, Entwines our lives, never meant to be apart. So I\'ll stay, though the darkness may persist, In their love\'s embrace, finding solace, finding bliss.

For in the tender moments, laughter\'s sweet refrain, I rediscover strength, healing the strain. And though my heart may ache and sway, Their love\'s light guides me, showing me the way.

So I\'ll navigate this path with care, A delicate dance, a whispered prayer. Not wanting to burden, not wanting to be a weight, But cherishing their love, in its embrace, I find my fate.
