The Thousand-Day Wait

My hands may never grasp great wealth or riches,
My eyes may never see life\'s finest pleasures,
But what I crave above all else is this:
The sweet bliss of your love, which fuels my dreams.

My eyes are entranced by the sight of you,
Your voice echoes in my ears like a song,
I live my days enveloped in tears,
Longing never to lose you, my precious one.

Why do I love you more with each passing day?
What is happiness without this sweet wait?
I thank the universe for this delay,
For now, I know life without you is bare.

The places where your smile once shone so bright,
Now only watch me as I sit alone.
Perhaps a thousand more days I\'ll wait,
For the one day that will finally be ours.
