When it rains
The clouds are driven
Towards those who need to cry
But can\'t
Winds unstable
As the mind\'s tide
Tugging
Pulling
At branches in the breeze
Till the trees
Turned sideways
But still so forced to stand
When it rains
The sky goes gray
And it takes all
The light of day
It drips shame
Cold and chilling
Like a game
On those unwilling
When it rains
It often floods
Like memories
You can\'t control
Brings you back
To far back
To before
And it locks you
There
Behind that door
Into emotions
Softly spoken
Not out loud
Just a drop within the crowd
When it rains
So does your mind
And it leaves you
Oh, so far behind
You wish to cave
In
You might just give
Up
But you can\'t
You\'re not strong enough
But, in this flood
You feel yourself drowning
Drowning
And you\'re so far out at sea
Yes, it\'s hard
When it rains
Beating down
When you\'re already on the ground
Underground
Sometimes you wonder
If you sink
Is that it
Is it all
If you\'ve already fallen
Yer already crawlin
What\'s left
When it rains
And mud caves in
And they\'re all so far
Above you
They can\'t notice you
Here
Or there
Anywhere
But you need to stay
Afloat
I\'ll be your boat
Because I\'ve been here
All to long
It feels so wrong
Maybe we can be alone
Together?
Alone together
When it rains
Let it rain
Hurricane!
At least it means
We\'re something
At least!
We feel something
At least!
And if you\'ve gone numb
From the cold
Shiver then
Shake it off
Scream it out if you need
Here, I\'ll scream too!
They\'re to far ahead
They won\'t hear
Trust me, my dear
But if it helps we\'ll do it
Till we weather through
When it rains
It can be scary
But, oh, the contrary
When it rains it can sooth
It can cleanse
If you just see it through
You may find you grew
When it rains
And it floods
And the memories try to trap you
Let them drip
Drip
Drip
Littler pitter patters of drops
From your eyes
You can cry
It\'s ok
We all do
When it rains
