Petrichor of Love

The Nocturnal Visitor

Once upon a midnight dreary,

In the depths of a realm eerie,

A visitor came, draped in night\'s cloak,

A presence that whispered, a secret it spoke.

Through the silence, I heard a tapping,

A rhythm ethereal, mystifyingly happening,

I opened the door to a dreamscape surreal,

Where reality twisted, and shadows would kneel.

And there, perched upon my chamber\'s bust,

A figure emerged, shrouded in haunting lust,

Its eyes, abyssal voids, swallowed my soul,

Unleashing nightmares, a torrent to unroll.

The phantom form, fluid and obscure,

Murmured laments of a world impure,

Its voice, a mournful dirge from realms unknown,

Leading me through landscapes where dreams had flown.

Whispers of sorrow, like tendrils of mist,

Coiling around me, my sanity they twist,

A ballet of illusions, macabre and grand,

Where darkness and light, entwined, would expand.

Visions danced, their movements grotesque,

Within the depths of this dark burlesque,

Faces contorted in pain and despair,

As phantoms swirled, creating an ominous air.

I reached out to touch the phantom\'s hand,

But it slipped through my grasp like shifting sand,

A spectre\'s touch, cold and ethereal,

Melting away like a forgotten funeral.

The chamber grew colder, the air thick with dread,

As nightmares painted scenes within my head,

The fabric of reality tore apart,

Unveiling horrors that tore at my heart.

In the depths of this demented reverie,

I stumbled, lost in a nightmare\'s decree,

Through corridors of twisted dreams I strayed,

Trapped in a labyrinth where reason decayed.

The raven returned, its feathers as black as sin,

Cawing, invoking the terrors within,

With each flap of its wings, shadows unfurled,

Unleashing demons that preyed on the world.

I yearned for solace, for a glimmer of light,

But the dream\'s grip was relentless, sealing my plight,

In this dark theatre of broken illusions,

Where sanity crumbled, lost in confusion.

And as the night waned, and day approached,

The dreamscape receded, leaving me encroached,

But the raven\'s echoes lingered, a haunting refrain,

As I wandered through echoes of eternal pain.

In dreams and waking, their tendrils persist,

Those nightmarish visions that my mind insists,

A reminder that darkness and dreams entwine,

Leaving me captive in this nightmare of mine.

The nocturnal visitor, a harbinger of despair,

Unleashing horrors, in a morbid affair,

A sentinel of darkness, forever to roam,

Leaving me lost, in the darkness I call home.
