Everyday.
\"Men scare me.\" A sentence that every woman thinks or says at least once in her life. Why? What did men do to make women afraid of them? Everyday women try to live their lives, minding their business, and men see that as an invitation to touch her because of what she\'s wearing. Everyday, men sexually assault and rape women because they think what she\'s wearing means they can do whatever they want to her. Everyday. Everyday, men murder women simply because she rejected him. Everyday, you see on the news that a woman was killed or kidnapped by a man. Everyday, women are told to cover up because what she\'s wearing says she\'s asking for it, but all I see is a woman wearing a shirt and shorts. A woman wearing a tank top and skirt. A woman wearing a dress. A woman wearing a bathing suit. A woman wearing a hoodie and sweatpants. All I see is women wearing clothes. When a woman wears these clothes she\'s asking for it, but when a man wears the same exact clothes he isn\'t. How is that fair? How does that make sense? Every woman knows someone who\'s been raped, but no man knows a rapist. Men like to say \"not all men\" but does that really matter if all of this is still happening to women? Does saying \"not all men\" help stop anything? If it\'s really not all men then show it by standing up for women because if you don\'t help then you\'re part of the problem. Everyday, women go through this. Everyday.
Everyday, I have people telling me to cover up because I\'m asking for it. Everyday, I wonder if I\'m going to live until tomorrow because I didn\'t want to talk to a man or cover up. Everyday, I pray that I\'m not going to be next on someone\'s list to sexually assault, rape, or murder. Everyday, I live in fear that this could happen to me. Everyday.
