Alone on my ride

I went to Marks, you were not there.
I called your name & stopped to stare,
I looked around & hoped you\'d show,
From where you\'d come I do not know.

My shopping trips are fun no more,
I have no need to get you from the door,
I used to moan & stress about,
Being so tired, until I\'d shout.

But looking back now, it wasn\'t so bad,
I may have been tired, but my Mum I had.
There\'ll be no more trips with you by my side,
I\'m driving home now, alone on my ride.

Life moves on, without you, it\'s strange,
Life has a plan and things have to change,
We can\'t live forever and we all have to go,
My life will move on but for now, it is slow.

I miss you now and forever I will,
But for now I\'m in Marks, alone at the till.
Shopping trips will not be the same,
But when I\'m there will whisper your name.
