The Long Suffering Man

The long suffering man unhappy in his life

Bored with his negative and ever nagging wife

Under the one roof in  separate beds they does sleep

For love that has died he has no more tears to weep

Seven great grandchildren with her he does share

Happy moments between them nowadays are rare

Of his drinking habits she regularly complain

The irreparable damage to their relationship this in part does explain

He spends most of his evenings in the local pub

Whilst she has found new love in the local seniors bowls club

But that she has a lover does not bother him at all

What seems a big worry to many to him rather small

They did love each other in their physical prime

But this is going back many decades in time.
