A Stranger in a Changing World

neither beg nor borrowed hands,

pouting lips for the grazing gulls.

baron land for the narrow foot

begs honesty a supper;

across one sleeping pond,

dawns rise and fall

teeths winters sticks through porthole to the groin;

waterbeds unruffled fur;

comes raven comes intrusive beak

the pry and prod

the limp of love

above bright empathy;

bright lights to somewhere else;

how cruel one baron landslide

shading heel from open arms;

now digs obsession deep down to the ache;

loves ears that cup the pounding of a wind;

now erect as cactus,

dry as orange dancing to a sponge;

love as willow?; love as apricot?;

water fowl in a pregnant sea;

comes sea as weed in a dolphins lung,

no taller than the tundra

no taller than the salted weeds

that grunt and grind as strangers on a page;

my heart has flown the feathers of your nest;

a stranger in a changing world

depressed;
