I First Grew To Love Nature
I first grew to love Nature in fields far away
Far north of where i am ageing today
Long before my life\'s journey brought me far south
Of the fields of the badger and waterways of the brown trout
Where i used to daydream that i would be a poet
A writer well worthy of literary note
But daydreams as is said for so few come true
And fame as a writer in life not my due
Here in the coastal lands of the Peek Wurrong
I wake every day to the magpie\'s warbling song
Where mine to many is a stranger\'s face
I feel lucky to be ageing in such a beautiful place
Of natural beauty that lives on in time
That never does fail to inspire me to rhyme.
