The Clown

The Clown

My house is filled with laughter,

My smile is painted on with plaster,

My shoes are a mile long,

My nose is pantied rosey red,

My face is painted a snowy white,

My eyes are painted sapphire  blue,

My dance makes the best of laughter,

As their giggles fill the room,

And their claps surround me,

My plaster smile widens,

But under my smile,

Lies a frown,

Hidden in plain view,

Hidden by the face I wear,

And the facade I chose,

As they laugh and stare the more my frown appears,

Making me the clown as I appear,

And chose.
