Our Sense Of Values Are Different

What looks beautiful to you may not be so to me

Our sense of values are different is how it seems to be

I do see great beauty in an old growth tree

But with my opinion on this you choose to disagree

Of the grand old tree you only do say

That of human progress it stands in the way

Standing in a hectare of ground on the industrial area of the town

The developer forbidden by court order to have it cut down

If he had it removed a huge fine he would have to pay

The town conservation group on the protection of this national trust tree a huge part did play

With the court decision on this I thoroughly agree

Though you look on this very differently

Through different eyes difference we do see

What stands in the way of progress to you is beautiful to me.
