Used to fear ghosts
Fear the dark,
Fear the unknown
But now I catch myself wanting to spot you,
Wanting to see you in the dark
I want you to know I won’t fear you
It can be 3am
Pitch black in my office
You can sit in my recliner
Our energies probably won’t allow us to speak
But you can stare at me
We can sit in silence
And stare at each other
Used to fear ghosts,
Fear the dark,
Fear the unknown
But now I catch myself
In between breaths
Whispering your name
Three times to make you appear
I won’t blink if you stand in front of me Eyes wide open so you won’t disappear
Our energies probably won’t allow us to touch.
But we can mirror our hands
And ballroom dance
In the middle of my pitch-black living room
Victorian Ballroom
I’ll say I love you
You will smile at me
I’ll say I miss you
You will nod at me.
We agree.
I used to fear ghosts,
But I pray that God lets me dance with you.
