Today is that day,
That day twenty eight years ago,
That day when my Dad died.
One of Nature’s gentlemen
And a very gentle man.
He brought respect to me,
And showed me the polite way in life,
Nothing was forced on me.
Apart from being Father and Son
We were very good friends.
But the most important thing,
The most important thing he gave me
Was my love of music,
Because of him I have listened,
Listened to music ALL my life.
My appreciation of music is unbounded
Sometimes when I am listening to music
He is sitting next to me.
I often think of him,
And many times when I look in a mirror
I see my Dad.
So thank you Dad,
Thank you for all you did for me,
My appreciation even at my time of life
Remains unbounded
And will never change.
