The Joy of Sadness

We don\'t always heal, you see,
We dive into work, busy as a bee,
With tasks to do and places to be,
Hiding our hurts, like a hidden key.

We bury our hurt, ignore its plea,
Prefer distractions over setting it free,
In a crowd, emotions rise like the sea,
Yearning to weep, but we fake glee.

Sometimes, we wish to cry out loud,
But in front of everyone, we\'re not allowed,
So we bury those feelings in a shroud,
Though they slowly poison, like a dark cloud.

They say, \"Let your tears freely flow,
Release your pain, let your emotions show.\"
But these thoughts of pain can cast a pall,
Leaving us in a melancholy thrall.

To erase painful memories, here\'s the key,
Layer new ones atop, as if planting a tree,
In the garden of life, flowers will bloom,
Replacing the sorrow, lifting the gloom.

The hurtful place won\'t hurt you anymore,
In its soil, happiness will steadily soar.
One day, the tears will be tears of delight,
As you find your way back into the light.

So remember, my friend, as you face the pain,
Each tear you shed is a step toward the gain.
Though it may feel like a never-ending rain,
Sunshine awaits, where happiness will reign.
