I am teetering on the edge of greatness and ruin
Walking on a tightrope stretched taunt with anxiety
The icy wind howls around me
Pushes into me
Daring me to let go; to stop being so stubborn.
I look down
My feet are bleeding from the rough rope
Turning blue from the cold
My safety belt has fallen off long ago
It would be so easy to give up.
But then the tightrope gives a lurch
And my heart joins in with a backflip
And suddenly I\'m afraid to fall
However soft the landing below me might look
I know it will be the end of my journey
And I\'m not ready to go home yet.
So I fix my gaze on the horizon
And take another step
Teetering on a tightrope
At the edge of greatness and ruin.
