Firsts

The first bite, the first sip
I\'d always give
First love, from teen through adulthood that lived
My one and only in every
little moment and memory
Big and small
With you and from you were all my firsts after all

Butterflies in my stomach, making my heart flutter
Every crack of the heart break was amplified with words that shattered
Wishful thinking, looking through rose tinted glasses\' bliss
Wishless living now with grief clouding my sight with mist

First love, first one I called mine
Would the outcome change even if we went back in time?
We reached our end, for the last time love\'s clock had chimed
Maybe it was meant to be a lesson, our roles in each other\'s lives were timed

Through all the seasons of life
Summer through fall
Not in yours  but definitely in mine
With you and from you were all my firsts after all
