Scent, Paint, Walls
This place where time cautiously crawled by
Days stretched out before us
Like an endless ocean
We were limited only by our imagination
Together we crafted unto the canvas
Honest heroes with helpless heroines
Love was pure and simple for a seven year old
At night shadows became puppets
Priceless performances played beneath a
Glowing stickers shine
We were
Truly young
Truly free
Our cares were as light
As the feathers that
Filled our cushions
How we take such moments for granted
We childishly turned our nose up at homework
School was a place exiled from the comforts of home
O how those memories fill our hearts
Of simpler times
Of relative innocence
There were things we didn’t know
Sometimes almost wish we never had to know
But as what has been written
When I became a man, I put away childish things
Reality has dawned upon us
And we calmly stand
Faced with the truth
Off a cold harsh world we call
Adulthood
