Dear Straight Girl: Tales of an Unrequited Lover

In a world full of rainbows, I found myself in plaid,

A lesbian teen, not at all bad.

Falling for girls, who fall for boys,

A complicated game, with hearts as toys.

A crush on Jenny, with her golden locks,

She dates a jock, they\'re as sturdy as rocks.

Then there\'s Lisa, with her emerald eyes,

She dates the class clown, to my surprise.

The saga continues with the lovely Miss Claire,

She\'s dating Tom, with his greasy hair.

I offer poetry, sonnets and verse,

Yet they opt for boys, is there a worse curse?

Daydreams filled with dances and dates,

But alas, their interests lie with different mates.

Though it seems I\'m fishing in the wrong pool,

It\'s just part of my teen, lesbian school.

Navigating corridors, locker-lined, long,

Humming the chords of a sapphic song.

Straight girls abound, my affection, they spur,

Yet I keep crushing, oh, these feelings that stir!

Lessons in love, learnt the hard way,

But I\'m a teen, that\'s the nature of the play.

Despite the drama, the hurt, and the stress,

Being a lesbian teen, I wouldn\'t trade for less.
