Don’t dismiss those daily chores
That seem a task for you;
Take joy in mundane matters
That you are charged to do.
Enjoy your babysitting
And watch the young ones grow—
They’ll take you back to places
Where older folks don’t go
Appreciate the humdrum
And things you do each day;
Don’t begrudge–be bitter—
Just find a better way.
There’ll always be new problems
With relationships and health—
Where money seems to disappear—
But happiness is wealth.
