Irish music played
Alcohol, sweet, powerful
My body jaded..mind screwed
My heart left on a bus
Like a forgotten carrier bag
By an overworked mother.
Green eyes from the next table
Fifteen years my junior
Holding a thin booklet
I recognised as mine.
Body jaded, my mind screwed
But still a man
So I will skip the details
As she bored me with theory.
Not realising poetrys pain
So I smiled politely next morning
Not wanting to offend
No thanks to coffee, sweet tea please.
