The sky

I told him and he did not say
anything like I expected.
A series of questions instead - about the weather, the weekend plans, the banalaties of my day
All of which he did not care for.

I could have answered anything.
I could have said I was off to Uruguay to enter a skateboarding competition
or the weather had blown the roof away
I could have said I was playing a trombone in a blue dress with no shoes on and conversing with three parrots in French.

I didn\'t.

I told him the weather was nice. I went to work and would visit my family at the weekend.
All of which he did not care for.

I have told him. I have told him in a thousand different ways.
I think he knows.
He thinks the weather might make it go away or I will be distracted by answering a ritual.
I could have said anything at all.
But what if I put my finger on his lips and stopped the sound?
