I arise in the darkness
Before dawn’s early light,
I look out the bedroom window
And see the full moon shining,
A beacon of light bringing joy,
Bringing joy and wonder,
Joy and wonder to my life
As once more I have arisen,
Arisen into a new day,
Another new day in my life.
I am so grateful
As the moon has been there,
Been there looking over me
Ensuring that there is light,
That there has always been light
In my long, long life,
And I know it will be there,
Be there forever,
In my life and beyond.
