FACADE AND LOVE

Beneath the guise of our crafted masks,
we dwell, Shrouded not for ourselves,
but for those we hold dear.
Their gaze, filled with wonder,
sees but the shell We choose to display,
hiding what we fear.

Observers may laugh, mistaking our act for truth,
Unaware that beneath, a tempest rages.
Our masks are mere veils
over the untamed youth
Of a beast within, pacing in its cages.

Yet, we keep them afar,
in our play pretend, Hoping for peace,
their departure our desire.
But fate, relentless, tests us to the end,
Our facades crack, our true selves exposed, afire.

The brink of chaos looms, gates set to part wide,
But a loved one’s call, a pivot in stride.
Our masks return, their eyes meet ours,
we hide The beast once more,
its terror locked inside.

In solitude’s mirror, at night’s quiet hour,
We face our demons, and our inner battles sour.
Yet dawn’s light beckons,
and with newfound power,
We don our masks, our horrors to devour.

For love alone grants us the might to conceal,
Or confront the fears that we so deeply feel.
Our facades may be obscure, but they also reveal
The depth of our love, the protective seal.

In the end, it’s love that shapes our very core,
Love that arms us, whether we fight or ignore.
Though masks may hide,
love’s essence we can’t ignore,
It’s love that defines us furthermore.
