Once upon a time
A young curious boy was I
Exploring the world outside
Following paths of how and why
Nature with all its wonders
Discoveries of trees and wildlife
All things under the Sun
Soaking up the morning light
My distant memories
Clear and vivid in my mind
But as I stand there now
The same views I struggle to find
The years have taken its toll
Decay and growth everywhere I see
The paths I used to walk
No where to be seen
These same woods grown anew
For today’s young curious boys
Out exploring as I once did
New adventures and joys
But I, an old man now
Look back with searching eyes
For that young boy
Who followed paths of how’s and why’s
