Each thought of you fills me with sweet emotion;

My heart races as you enter the room.
I force my mouth to mold the nicest smile.
I lean my head on my hand,

I quickly look away so you won’t notice my longing gaze,
And begin a lazy conversation with my friend.

As, again, I dare to move my eyes in your direction.
My face flushes and burns when I notice your eyes wander in my direction, too.

Forgetting myself, I return the smile on your face,
And then, remembering myself once again,
I look away and vigorously talk,
Trying to make you think I wasn’t looking at you,
Though it was agonizingly obvious.

I promise myself never to look at you again,
When you could see me, anyway,
And then notice you are walking towards me.
And out of the corner of my eye,
Which is breaking the promise I just made,
I see you smile.

The thrill of seeing you starts all over again.
Your eyes are so gorgeous.
Their light blue surrounds my whole world,
My whole being.

I have lost all control and I turn and smile,
Which causes your smile to widen.
You walk over and lean against my desk as we begin to talk.
My friend, intentionally of course, loudly clears her throat.
She then tells you to sit down.
I, jokingly, echo it,

And you look at me, your smile silently laughing with mine.
You turn and walk away.
My heart is still beating fast,
As I hold that picture of your smile before my eyes as if it were etched on paper.

I opened my eyes to reality,
Only to see that they were open all along.
That wasn’t a dream;
My heart skips a beat.
That was you.

The boy who looks and never notices.

I think about you everyday
