Black Beauty

I wanted a bigger truck

To haul a heavy load

But a truck easy on the eyes

While driving down the road

And he’s a big ‘ole boy

Built of strong bones

A handsome truck

Of all the vehicles I’ve owned

Carrying weight in the bed

He smiles like its meant to be

Getting’ the job done

He’s happy as can be

With four-wheel drive

He’ll take me off-road

Be it gravel or dirt no matter

Over hills and through valleys we rode

Painted a metallic black

He wears his color proud

Not the “in your face” type

That stands out too loud

One day I decided

He must have a name

A name that fits him right

So Black Beauty he became
