A Songbird\'s Final Flight

In a world of sound and song,

There was one who sang so true.

Melanie, with voice so strong,

Gave us skies of deepest blue.

With her guitar in gentle grip,

She weaved tales of love and life.

Her melodies would softly slip

Into hearts, easing strife.

\"Beautiful People,\" she would sing,

In her voice, a tender care.

Each note, like a bird on wing,

Lifted spirits into the air.

At Woodstock, she shone so bright,

A beacon in the rain and mud.

Her music, a guiding light,

A flowing, harmonious flood.

\"Brand New Key,\" a playful tune,

Danced in dreams of young and old.

Underneath the sun and moon,

Her stories gracefully told.

Now the stage is dark and bare,

No more will her voice we play.

But in our hearts, she\'s still there,

In every song, in every day.

Melanie, your music stays,

A legacy of love and peace.

In our hearts, through all our days,

Your song of life will never cease.

Rest now, in the stars so high,

Your melody forever sings.

In the music of the sky,

You\'ve found your brand new pair of wings.
