Work Ethic

I grew up

Without instructions

Over many years I had to learn

The cost of deductions

Having a good work ethic

Takes a long time to understand

But you’re there when you can honestly say

I’m proud of where I stand

The value of money connected

To the value of hard work

They go hand in hand

Bleed the sweat before popping the cork

A good work ethic

Takes many years to learn

To share the work load equally

No matter the pain that burns

To earn your keep

On the work force

Prove yourself worthy

Or provoke employer’s divorce

Usually learned from the elders

As passed down through experience

Pay attention long enough

Understanding a good working sense

When all work together

There is no seam

Depending on each other

There is no I in team

No one man a hero

Each man a working brother

The handshake shows

Respecting each other

Looking back

On a job well done

When the boss smiles

So does everyone
