Men not gods

As my body is eroded by the waves of time

and I fight the battle against hordes innumerable

I rest a while, in memory of those sublime

having taken on all odds in battles memorable

I think of ten thousand against only twenty one Sikhs

as they fought to the last man in the battle of Saragarhi

of Agis abandoned, against a whole army, fighting on his knees

Dian Wei alone against enemy forces as a charging sea

The lone man in Tianamin square that faced off against a tank\'s powers

Benkei pierced by innumerable arrows, in death refused to fall

A lone Viking at Stamford bridge holding off all Saxons for hours

never for a truce did he call

When confronted with insurmountable odds

to face them resolute with out fear

One does not have to be one of the gods

just a man, like them, I am still here
