On such a day as this
Valentine’s Day in Twenty Twenty-four
I speak of unconditional love
As I have countless times before
At the risk of being repetitious
My love of over fifty-six years old
Memories within my heart
Worth to me more than all the world’s gold
Memories of my first love Sharon
With her smile everlasting
Since the age of ten
To the Pearly Gates I’ll be passing
Falling in love at so young an age
Can leave a significant impact
Upon a young heart
It may or may not leave it intact
But her smile unlike any other
Captured my young heart
Raising the romantic bar
The love of my life from the start
On this Valentine’s Day
Still, after fifty-six years I can say
Sharon, I love you
And it’ll always be that way
For all the world
I wish this kind of love
Between every girl and boy
A gift from above
