Tea With The Tree
A cup of tea with my friend the tree
What better companion could there be
The wind in her branches speaks softly to me
And reminds me of where I love to be
The place in which I feel so free
Where I am able to clearly see
That we exist harmoniously
It is never I, but we
And we shall never disagree
Through all the seasons by degree
We spend the time companionably
In winter her branches bare, may be
But they frame the sky so beautifully
Rains of spring nourish abundantly
The lushness of her canopy
And summer sun effusively
Bestows its warmth so tenderly
In autumn, leaves dramatically
Present in colors most heavenly
It is here in compatibility
That I share most reverently
A cup of tea most pleasantly
I am grateful for this familiarity
And I must say truthfully
I am her ardent devotee
