Trees (Weeping Willow)

As the birds rest in your arms
You look down at the water
The reflection of someone else
Stares back at you
Until it is swept away
By the ever growing river
Washing away the lies that were true

As spring ends, summer comes
Where the shadows grow longer
And the sounds around you turn to joy
The river becomes tranquil once more
A remembrance, slowly
Of a call of sorrow
That opens every pore

Rain causes ripples on the water
You reach down to join them
Laying your hands on the swirling water
Using the sky as your pillow
Strangers walk paow st
How sweet, how apt
Weeping Willow
