Silly me,
but long ago now ..
I once
threw each letter
of your name
and yes,
in the right order ..
Into an
old wishing well
and called
upon the gods to
grant me just one ..
Then I burnt
three small green
candles ..
Each with your
name carved upon ..
And swore
upon the graves
of those
I once loved
I would find you
again,
or would die
in the searching ..
Silly me,
at the time I was
quite unaware
that you
had banished me
and that
wishing wells
worked for kids only ..
