What have I to fear of death
When death has smiled at me?
When I draw my final breath,
I will do so with glee.
Fear of pain does not prevent
as tears my simple flesh,
for every tear my Lord shall mend
to deepen peaceful rest.
Fear of loss disturbs me not,
for I have nothing left.
The part I play\'s a measly jot;
of care, I am bereft.
Fear of darkness evermore
does pause my beating heart,
but when I think of what\'s to come,
then calmly I depart.
So what says me, the one who loves
the toothy grin of death?
I say let\'s try with all our might
to live life at our best.
