There is a cup in my cabinet
That no one uses anymore.
It is beautiful -
White and Gold,
The kind that mom would use to serve the guests.
It has patterns that shine -
Twists and swirls;
Almost perfect for royalty
Except, it sits there collecting dust,
For it is chipped on one part of the rim.
The tea still tastes the same in it,
Nowhere else is it even slightly flawed.
But I\'d rather buy another one;
For almost perfect isn\'t enough.
And so lies in my cabinet,
A chipped cup collecting dust
