Politicians function as apologists:
“Unemployment low, jobs for all” – and so?
Leaves the uninformed and Economists
Preoccupied and with a happy glow.
Pay and conditions are not their concern;
It’s numbers which will tickle the fancy
Of a Pollie when it comes their turn
To confront the herd – reaction chancy.
But you know many listen with cloth ears,
Exhausted now they’ve given up the fight;
No choice but to go out for a few beers.
A Trade Union? They’ve yet to see the light.
I’m away soon; I’m quite ready to flee -
Don’t mean nothing to me as a retiree.
