The Pencil\'s Tale - a story that everyone should hear.
There are many teachers
To teach you how to write poetry
In books, videos and schools
All endeavors so worthy
But I’m not a teacher
Just a poet who loves to write
A poet who looks for inspiration
In everything in sight
I’ll not tell you how to write
As I’m not qualified to teach
But rather inspire you
Deep within for you to reach
It’s your talent to compose
That I wish to inspire
The gift you already own
To encourage your inner fire
Writing poetry gets better with time
The more you read, the more you’ll write
Like finding your way through the darkness
Into the poetic light
Poetry feeds upon itself
Once you start you can’t stop
When the words begin to flow
You may need to edit or crop
You’ll find your own style
When it fits you like a glove
You’ll feel the pride
With what you wrote thereof
It’s all up to you
You and your inner Muse
Occasionally, writer’s block
Might make you feel like a recluse
But keep writing
The poet in you is there
The words will come to you
Even if you don’t know from where
