Frostbite

I remember running away

I was young

We left that place

Broke out the window

And ran away

Over snow and grass

Barbed wire fence

Socks are frozen

We find a barn in a field

That night we had to huddle

Like dogs we kept warm

And in the morning

I could hardly walk

My feet were bruised, cut, and sore

The cold of the night had spoken

Taken my nerves

In a bath I was told to put my feet

I didn\'t feel the warm water

I looked down

My feet looked black and purple

No feeling at all

I was bit by the cold
