On the Way

Push, until it breaks,

Running through expressions,

Finding pieces you didn\'t know

Were there,

Dumping time inside the engine,

What little is left to give away

Will go, and it runs,

But is it fair, -

To be broken,

Or too worn to make the trip

As planned; is it easy,

Does it get easier?

Which of these exits leads to

Reason, or explanation,

For why sacrifice is only possible

When something exists?

It\'s in the business of

And by all means, sick,

That happiness is unrelated

When injectors swallow air,

Lost, all the while,

Throwing seconds into machinery,

Fighting back the flame

And pushing, until it breaks.

Simpler times, calling collect;

Find something worth keeping

Next time, on the way down,

Before you stop, or the fuel runs out.
