I’m reminded of
A question some years ago
Someone had the bright idea
If we held an election and no one showed
Two political candidates
Of equal opposing intellect
But falling somewhat short
Were someone to inspect
So, what if
Upon arrival of election day
The ballet boxes remained empty
All the ballet boxes everywhere
Not even a single entry
There’d be no winner
Just two political losers
Of which we already knew
Two American public abusers
They run for presidency
An office of international affairs
But when domestic opinions decline
That’s bound to cause some shady stares
What a message it would send
To have an election
Where no one showed up to vote
No confidence in the public’s reflection
