Fearless Dreams

An Ember

If the monster was bruised, too broken to move

Would you stand there watching, a point to prove

If she hid her face, let out a single silent tear

Would you approach her, set aside your fear

If the monster was violently torn to pieces, left all alone

Would you step towards her, stomach the fleshless bone

If she flinched at your touch, covered it up with a smile

Would you notice or let it chase you further away a mile

If the monster was running short of breaths, fighting for air

Would you stand a world apart, pretending that you care

If she was almost out of heartbeats, still determined as before

Would you stand in the shadows, now hoping that you did more

Would you be by her side as the light was stolen from her eyes

Would you stand by her, try to fight through all of their lies

Would you hold her body even though a monster it had been

The words are wrapped up pretty, worth more than what they mean.
