Though I was not born from you
I learned love could come from two
Two Mothers of birth and adoption
Love sent to and raised with so true
I know I earned my scoldings
And all my spankings too
But therein lies my learning
Of what and what not to do
Looking back
You saw in me
More than I could see myself
Guess I was destined to be who I came to be
The Alzheimer’s Disease stole your memories
But God gave them back to you
When he called you home
Along with our love for you
Sixteen years ago today
We put you in God’s hands
For him to make you whole again
And for that we lovingly understand
And now Dad is with you
You’re both together again
Where you both belong
Without the memory of pain
Until we meet again
We’ll hold you in our hearts
A lady of class
A portrait of parental art
