Endless Rain

How much am I allowed to give to the world until I lose everything?

The weight of my memories in my chest,

No wonder it hurts to think.

Even a swordsman can only fight for so long until his sword betrays him.

Mankind thrives in its own inventions in the presence of nature,

We’ve battled God for years until we forgot exactly who he is,

That was humanity’s greatest mistake of all.

Nature balances out agony with curiosity,

We’ve taken for granted what it means to breathe.

We’re too busy wiping away our tears,

The rainfall that we know won’t stop pouring.
