The End of Eve (A Child\'s Dream)

everything falls into place at the right time. the sun

comes and casts its golden rays upon the orchards.

the apples are red and ripe as they always are. no

locusts approach the fields. the world is warm and

gentle. a child learns to cry with laughter. skinned

knees mean nothing on the playground. no one ever

grows up. no one ever has to. the world spins eternally

and the night comes with radiance. nothing has ever

died and never will. the fire will never burn out. the

rivers never creep from the banks. a dinosaur reclines

on a rock facing the clouds. magnolia petals fall at its

feet. it never goes hungry, neither does anything. we

are always satisfied. flowers bloom in the morning. the

air is clean and fragrant. it is easy to breathe. the grass

turns sweet in the dusk frame. we build houses and they

last. everything stays. everything stays.
