Homewrecker

I can still remember the first time you said I love you

The sweetness that rolled off your tongue as you said it

“I LOVE YOU”

The joy I felt had made me forget any sorrow

I\'ve felt in my entire life

“I LOVE YOU”

Nothing felt as good as when my heart responded

“I LOVE YOU TOO”

We thought we would last an eternity

A Happy ever after love story

Like the ones you read in the children\'s books

Then something came between us

Tore us apart as if we were never supposed to become one

Separated us as if we were never supposed to exist

It’s their fault

Cancer, they say

All four opinions with that same homewrecker name

Cancer

It\'s too far progressed they said

There can\'t be a you and I they meant

No problem slips out of my lips

As I prepare for our Shakespeare ending?

Shall I give us a Romeo and Juliet ending?

That way we can only hope that we meet again in death

Should I

Take my last breath when you take yours?

Will I

Be strong enough to continue Alone?

For I still remember when you first said

“I LOVE YOU”

And my heart answered back

“I LOVE YOU TOO”

So, I ask again

Will I be strong enough to continue on without you?
