Meera Mere

Sixteen

I burned the ashes of 16-year-old me,
A memory I would probably keep safe,
Close to my heart.
Tell her that she\'ll be fine,
That the world isn\'t kind,
We have to fight to survive.
And darling, you\'re doing just fine.

I know it all doesn\'t seem right,
Nothing makes sense as I conclude every night,
Watching the distant light.
Nothing makes sense,
Loneliness and anxiety seem tense.
But darling, it\'s alright.
I\'ve got you with all my might.

Everyone\'s been hurting you, I see,
But it\'s the start to become stronger, do you see?
I know sometimes it feels, life is hardest on you,
But tough times make tough men, right?
Just cry, it\'s alright.
But please don\'t mind everyone\'s advice.
Your soul shines through the darkest times.
Just don\'t end your life.
Someday I believe you\'ll be alright.
