3 x part of a story - \"That Night\'s Dream\"

(a part of)

That Night\'s Dream

“That night”

you whispered as I slept that night,

you made my dream grow, have some sight,

you forced the colors and sounds through,

as I laid sleeping next to you.

you gently caressed my dreaming head,

I remember the heart felt words you said,

\"I will always love the way you play my song,

we\'ll be together for a time that\'s long\".

you made my heart skip a needed beat,

they were words you\'d never repeat.

I still remember the pain and how I cried,

when I awoke you lay still, you had died.

you whispered as you lost your breath,

trying to warn me of your coming death.

you tried to wake me from my dream,

I know I dreamt your dying scream.

your memory remains so lasting, so strong,

it\'s what you meant by a time that\'s long.

places with you, I often want to switch.

your image remains so clear, so rich.

That Night\'s Dream

“The dream”

that dream I had when you whispered clear,

that last night when you died so near.

we enjoyed the oceans and the mountains\' view,

we travelled all over to find things new.

we enjoyed the comfort of each other\'s touch,

made conversations, talked so much.

ate at the best restaurants we could find,

to the world around us we were blind.

watched the sun set as it got late,

the time we cherished it was great.

we held each other gently tight,

adored the others lovely sight.

the time the moment so painfully came,

things would never be the same.

within my dream you left my side,

that was the moment you had died.

That Night’s Dream

“The promise”

I trusted the pact we had made,

into the next life together would fade.

find each other throughout that life,

even agreed to be the others wife.

you promised we would go together,

on the other side as one forever.

we talked of our death yet to come,

you lied to me that\'s the sum.

never did I think that you would go first.

my dreams they are now scarred, cursed.

you gently caressed my sleeping head,

knowing when I awoke, you\'d be dead.

a trusted promise broken by fate,

for my own end I patiently wait.

the hope we will again be together,

in the next life and forever and ever.
