An academic guru,
Whose mentorship sees us through
A lecturer and father to all,
His uniqueness awes all.
Many have suckled from his wits,
We are forever indebted to his wits,
A unique personality,
Gifted in this professionality.
Today, we are graced to celebrate him
Because we are products of him,
The father of African poetry,
His disciples are doing well in poetry.
