A train robber one of the best,
he was well known throughout the West.
Jake and Lill planned soon to be wed,
but there was a price on his head.
The posters everywhere had read;
wanted alive, but preferred dead.
`^`
The sheriff\'s possie way back then;
got tipped off to, what train and when.
With this \'last job\' Jake had a date,
then promised Lill he would go straight!
But this last crime did seal his fate.
The \"hangman\'s noose\" \'twould soon await!
`^`
That day Jake never stood a chance,
from \'the hanging tree\' he would dance.
The news it broke Lill\'s heart surely;
She died it\'s said, prematurely.
In evenings some folk swear they see;
her ghostly image, near, that tree~
